Legends of RCBT Tournament Series Rules
1. Participation & Eligibility
Open to all anglers with a valid Texas fishing license.
Membership fee required per season.
One minor per team may fish with written parental consent or with a parent/guardian partner. Each boat must have one angler over 18 years old.
Entry fee must be paid online prior to takeoff
A team consists of two anglers. Each team will be allowed one substitute per season. To fish the championship, the sub must have fished at least one regular season tournament.
2. Format
Team or Individual (two anglers max per boat).
Artificial lures only. No live or prepared bait.
Only conventional rods & reels may be used (no trolling, jugging, or other methods).
One rod per angler in use at a time.
3. Safety
U.S. Coast Guard–approved life jackets must be worn whenever the combustion engine is running.
All boats must meet state and federal safety regulations.
Safe boating and sportsmanship are mandatory.
4. Tournament Waters & Off-Limits
Tournament waters: Richland Chambers and Cedar Creek Lake.
No fishing within 25 yards of any boat without permission.
Designated off-limits areas (restricted areas) must be respected. Treat restricted areas as “brick walls.” No casting into restricted areas or over restricted cables and buoys.
5. Check-in, Start & Weigh-in
Official start and weigh-in times will be announced before each event.
Livwell check location will be announced before each event.
Online registration only, cutoff if the Wednesday prior to tournament day at 5pm.
All boats must have a livewell check before takeoff. You must have a livewell check to fish.
Late weigh-in penalty: 1 lb per minute late. After 15 minutes, catch will not be weighed.
Chip must be turned in to the check in table at weigh in, prior to the time assigned before each event.
6. Limits & Scoring
5-fish limit per team/boat (unless changed by tournament director prior to tournament day).
Minimum length: 14 inches (per TPWD rules unless otherwise posted).
Any short fish presented: fish disqualified plus 1 lb penalty.
Dead fish penalty: 0.5 lb per fish.
7. Ties
Broken in order by:
Largest single fish.
Most live fish weighed.
Coin toss.
8. Payouts
100% entry fees paid back at each tournament (after expenses, if any).
Payout structure: 1 place paid per 5 boats.
One big bass pot paid
9. Points & Angler(s) of the Year (AOY)
Points + pounds awarded at each event:
1st place = 200 pts, 2nd = 198 pts, 3rd = 196 pts, and so on. Pounds will be added to the points for each tournament. For example, first place has 18 pounds. They will receive 218 points.
Zero-weight participants receive last place points minus 20.
AOY awarded to the team/angler with the highest cumulative points at the end of the series.
AOY ties broken by total weight across all events.
10. Sportsmanship
Good sportsmanship is expected at all times.
No alcohol or illegal drugs during tournament hours.
Cheating of any kind results in immediate disqualification and permanent ban.
11. Polygraph
A polygraph test will be conducted for an angler from the first place team and one random angler.
Tournament officials reserve the right to administer a polygraph at any time.
Refusal results in automatic disqualification from the tournament trail. Failure results in a meeting with present members of the tournament committee.
12. Rule Interpretation
Tournament Director decisions are final.
Rules may be updated or clarified before an event and will be announced before take-off.
